In the 1820's, a young immigrant named John Rich came to America to take advantage of the many opportunities provided by the fledgling nation. John followed in his family's tradition of working in the woolen industry. His mill became the site of today's small Pennsylvania town of Woolrich.
When John Rich's mill initially opened, the year was 1830 and Andrew Jackson was President. Soon thereafter Woolrich was outfitting troops in the Civil War and has continued this history in every war since. With this heritage as a backdrop and Woolrich's current production capabilities, the move into modern tactical wear was a natural brand extension.
Woolrich relies on end users in law enforcement (ESU/SWAT), executive protection, military operations and civilian concealed carry for their recommendations and requirements for their clothing. This input is then translated into our final product:, the Woolrich Elite Series Tactical line. With an eye focused on our specialized customers’ rigorous demands for functionality, mobility, durability and comfort, Woolrich Elite Series Tactical is also looking ahead. Our products will focus on continuing to exceed these requirements while striving to change the face of Tactical/Concealment wear.
We work closely with our cadre of operators, relying on their input to ensure that future Elite Series products surpass their task obligations. We are blessed with a team of end users who meet several times each year to review and test our products before we offer them to you. These summits allow us to be sure that all product meets the users’ needs and allows them to focus on the task at hand and not on their clothing. We view our apparel as gear, and feel it is the best gear to meet your tactical needs. To this end, all of the Woolrich Elite Series Tactical products we offer meet the standard of being Operator Grade.
"It has been my pleasure to be associated with Woolrich for the past four years. They have become more than clients, they are friends. The quality of the product and the quality of the folks at Woolrich is phenomenal. Their honesty and commitment to the customer is refreshing in a world that unfortunately, very often doesn’t seem to be concerned at all with quality and reputation."
"The training I experienced during the 2009 Woolrich Elite Series Tactical’s CorSpecOpsExtreme North American Tour, was extremely useful. Senior Team Leader (STL) Joseph Garcia of the United States Corrections Special Operations Group and his group of specialists ran us through the newest techniques in tactical enforcement using cutting edge technology and individualized coaching. During the survival drills, we learned the proper way to utilize tactical apparel and gear, an important safety aspect of rapid deployment often neglected during training. I want to thank Woolrich Elite Series Tactical for their support of the tour, making it possible for me to receive this invaluable training. Keep up the great work."
"I have been a long time fan of Woolrich’s Elite Series Tactical line. In my line of work, and when I am shooting competitively, it is so important to focus on the task at hand. When I am taking that dire shot, the last thing I want on my mind, is my clothes. The Woolrich lightweight tactical line keeps me cool and comfortable without compromising my agility. The tactical features are placed perfectly, with pockets exactly where I need them. I am thankful that Woolrich Elite Series Tactical understands the inadequate apparel options that face those in the tactical industry, and has meet our demands with superior clothes that do the job."
“Woolrich Elite Series Tactical knows what operators in the field need and want because they constantly seek input from this nation’s elite First Responders. They understand what it takes to make multipurpose tactical clothing that law enforcement and contract personnel need to get their jobs done. Woolrich Elite Series Tactical’s concealed carry or cover garments allow an officer or operator to carry weapons and equipment without looking obvious and intimidating. The operators I work with prefer the Elite line for two reasons; first because they know the pieces are versatile and will stand up to whatever tough situation comes their way, and second because they know that Woolrich Elite Series Tactical staff is constantly working with and listening to operators in the field just like them, to insure they have the best tactical clothing possible.”
"While working in a high stress tactical environment comfort is usually sacrificed to provide extra levels of safety and security to the operator but I have not found this to be the case with the Woolrich Elite Tactical Series clothing. I have found that the Elite Lightweight Operator Pants provide not only comfort desired but can withstand the rigorous abuse through tactical operations. The reinforced knees with included knee pads, and lower magazine pockets on both legs are just a few features that makes these operator pants stand out and surpass any other brand on the market..."
